RedSeaRules WEBAD

Psalm 77:19-20 talks about Moses & Aaron, leading the people of Israel out of that land of oppression—Egypt—and into the promised land. In spite of not seeing God’s footprints, God’s people knew that he was out ahead of them, leading the way. In that story—in that God, we find overcoming strength. All of this happened, and was recorded in God’s word, not for the entertainment value of the experience, but to prove to us in earth-shaking, history-making fashion that, even when we are most anxious and distressed, God will make a way when there seems to be no way…

In the next few weeks, we’re going to hear that truth played out in 10 rules that come from the Moses story—The Red Sea Rules, as author Robert J. Morgan calls them. Have you even been in a tough spot in life before? Maybe you’ve just found yourself in one of those spots recently. The way life goes, all of us will find ourselves there sooner or later. How are we going to cope?

The Red Sea may roll before us; the desert may entrap us; the enemy may press on our heels. The past may seem implausible and the future impossible, but God works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way of escape for His weary, but waiting, children. Don’t miss out on this very special series of messages that will help all of us get through whatever life throws our way!

Essential Transformation

Essential Transformation (E.T.) is a 13-week class for those desiring to explore the basics of the Christian faith. This class is also for any sophomore (or up) who desires to be confirmed, for those exploring membership at the Dodgeville UMC, or for anyone who is simply interested in growing in their knowledge of the Christian faith. We will be meeting on Wednesday evenings, starting in September, from 6:30-8:00 PM. (Nursery care is possible by prior arrangement.)

For all who have ever felt that the Bible or Bible study is intimidating, this is the class for you! We start at the beginning: We start with how to get around in the Bible itself. Then we start with basic beliefs of our faith - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and how God works in and through our lives in special ways. Along with that, we hope to answer your questions about things like "Why the church?" Won't you pray about joining Pastor Rom and Beth Schlueter as they prepare to lead E.T. this fall?

If interested, please contact the church office at 935-5451 as soon as possible! Also, if you will be bringing children with you during these Wednesday evening classes, please let us know that too. Further information will be available in August.

The Good News for you!

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it."

-John 3:16-17

God loves you so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die for your sins. After His resurrection and ascension into heaven, He sent His Spirit to live in our lives and empower us to live the abundant life.
