United Methodist Women

What is UMW?

A group of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Meet September through May the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM for a business meeting, program and lunch/social time. Main fundraisers are Spring and Fall rummage and bake sales. New members, any age, are welcome to join.

Circles

A small group of 10-12 women who meet for discussion, devotion, special projects and fellowship.  They also organize funeral lunches.

Currently there are two circles:

  • Evening Star meets the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM
  • Grace Post meets the second Monday of the month at 1:30 PM.

Circles remember shut-ins with cards and projects; contribute to UMW by way of dues, discuss the last UMW meeting, organize funeral lunches, and contribute to various needs of the church.

Any woman may become a member.

Retreats

Annual UMW retreat; Semi-annual trips to Women of Faith Conferences, retreats sponsored by Christian Education department and/or other churches. Watch announcements for other opportunities as they’re available.
