Joining Dodgeville United Methodist Church as a member and confirming your Christian faith means committing to support the church through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
Periodically throughout the year, we hold a membership class called “A Disciple’s Path.” It is a class that offers a brief overview of the structure of The United Methodist Church and offers practical ideas of what it looks like to support your church through your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Those individuals wishing to join us as members will be required to attend this class.
The best way to know if this is the congregation for you is to worship with us for several weeks. This, more than anything else, will help you become aware of our congregation’s life, personality and ministry. When you feel you are ready to unite with our congregation, or if you find you have specific questions you would like answered, please don’t hesitate to contact the pastor. He will be happy to meet with you to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
For youth, we offer an opportunity for them to “confirm” their faith.
When a youth in the church enters their sophomore year of high school they are eligible to take a confirmation class that is called “Confirm.” In this class, participants will gain a basic understanding of the Christian faith, along with a basic understanding of the United Methodist Church and its theology. Upon completion, they will have the opportunity to participate in a confirmation service in which they will take the baptismal vows for themselves and become members of the church.
