Church Ministries
Feeding Friends — “Feeding Friends is building community around the dinner table. We serve a free, hot nutritious meal that is open to everyone and served with neighborly hospitality.” Dodgeville United Methodist Church hosts a weekly meal in the Fellowship Hall from 5:00 – 6:30PM. The meal is open to anyone in the community. Meals are prepared and served by various church and community organizations in Dodgeville.
The Free Thrift Store — Located in the basement of Dodgeville United Methodist Church and open from 4:00 to 7:00 on Wednesdays, the Free Store offers clothing and household items at no cost for people in need. In addition to our regularly weekly hours, the Free Store is available by appointment. Please contact the church office.
Dodgeville UMC Food Pantry — Because of our relationship with Platteville United Methodist Church’s Ruby’s Pantry ministry, and through our connections from Feeding Friends, we often receive non-perishable food items and other food. We make this available to our Feeding Friends community and others in the community who may be in need.
Summer Mission Trip — Each summer, youth and adults from Dodgeville United Methodist Church pair up with Sidekick Missions (a ministry of BMZ) and other churches in Wisconsin to go on a mission trip somewhere in the United States. In 2018, the group will be traveling to Washington, DC. The cost of the trip is $500, but fundraising often brings this cost down significantly.
Pastor’s Discretionary Fund/Compassionate Fund — For those in our community who may need help with housing, food, utilities bills, or other financial needs we have an account that is available to help. If you would like to make a donation to the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, please designate it when you make an offering to the church
“Loose Change for Change” Offerings — On the fourth Sunday of each month during our regular worship services, all loose currency goes to the Loose Change for Change ministry for that month. We have a set schedule for where our money goes each month.
January – Heifer International; February – Summer Mission Trip; March – UMCOR Sunday; April – Ingathering for Annual Conference; May – Vacation Bible School; June – Dodgeville Homeless Shelters
Tornado Shelter — We are providing a tornado shelter for residents of the nearby trailer courts. In the event of a tornado watch a volunteer will open the church as a shelter.
