.Sunday, September 18, 2011 | By Rom A. Pegram |
Introduction:
The woman declares Jesus to be a prophet, noticing that his knowledge of her life went way beyond what was naturally possible. So, she begins to talk about worship--what she knew about worship and what she assumed Jesus believed, being a Jew ... and how that disturbed her: "The woman said to him, "˜Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship." How Jesus responded was even more disturbing that her assumptions about him. And, if nothing else, his comments about worship raise our curiosity even today... Let's join together in continuing to explore what it means to be ... a true worshiper of God! |

Last week, we began to talk about worship ... and what that means biblically. As we continue in this worship series called "Born to Worship," we cannot proceed further without exploring what Jesus meant in his conversation with the Samaritan woman at the well. Do you remember?
