Series: God Blesses (2013)

.Sunday, August 4, 2013 | By Rom A. Pegram

Introduction:

Today we begin a new series for August--a series that's all about being blessed by God, appropriately called "˜God Blesses....' The truth is we're probably blessed by God every day--one way or another. Even God's word tells us (John 1:16, NLT), "From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another."
So, what about our church--our lives together? Are we blessed as a community of faith? And, what would it take to know we're blessed by the God who calls us to be his people? In John 13:14-15 (NLT) Jesus tells his disciples, "And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. 15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." And then he goes on to say in Verse 17, "Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them." What are those "˜things' Jesus is talking about? That's where we're going for the next few weeks. Are you ready to find out what it'll take to be blessed by God--for us to know without a doubt that God is with us?
