Introduction:

As we finish up our series about learning to live & love like Jesus, we finally get to the practical part of giving--deciding where to start ... and God's word gives us plenty of help there...

The Apostle Paul said to the church in Corinth (2 Corinthians 8:7, NLT) -- "Since you excel in so many ways--in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us--I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving." Like piano or guitar playing, giving is a learned skill. With practice, we get better at it. We can learn to give more, give more often, and give more strategically. We teach the pursuit of excellence in other areas of our lives, so why not the area of giving to? That's what Paul was getting at here. And that's where we're going to begin now ... by talking about HOW to begin to learn this skill. Are you ready?
