Forming a RelationshipSeries: General |
.Sunday, July 19, 2015 | By Jim Droste |
Introduction:If you look in your United Methodist Hymnal, you'll see that our opening song is the first hymn: O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing. It has been first in every Methodist hymnal that has been published. It is a classic Charles Wesley hymn that speaks of the joy and salvation that comes in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Our Christian walk is about relationships. It is about the relationship that we have with God. Pastor Jim will be introducing himself and his wife Christa, and will also be spending some time talking about the importance of a relationship with God in his Christian walk. Our Christian walk is also centered on the relationships that we form with others in our communities: work, school, neighborhoods, gym...you name it. To "be" the church, we must be active and engaged in our community. |
