Let's Just Talk About It AlreadySeries: General |

Introduction:This morning we are going to explore a portion of a book of Bible known as the Song of Songs, or in other translations the Song of Solomon. Song of Songs means that what was selected for this book was the best of the best. We have a book of the Bible that is one long love song. Song of Songs does not mention God at all, and there was some question early in the Christian church's history as to whether or not it should be in the Bible at all. Let's face it! Song of Songs is a pretty racy book. What we're going to hear read this morning is somewhat tame compared to the rest of the book. Why is this book even in the Bible? Why on earth would Pastor Jim even think of reading it...in church? Good question. Because it is in the Bible. It is considered part of God's Holy Word. And it had a lot to teach us about the importance of love, and partnership, and commitment. |
