Don't Honk... Push! |

Introduction:The Advance-Titan, the student newspaper of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh used to have a section called the Gripe Line. You could anonymously call a number leave a message and your gripe could be printed in the newspaper. It might surprise you, or maybe it doesn't surprise you, to know what people are willing to say when they know that there is no way that they can be held accountable. People had the opportunity to stick it to the person who stuck it to them. Imagine if a Gripe Line column existed in the Dodgeville Chronicle. Even better, imagine if there was such a column in The Compass, our church newsletter. What do you think people might say about one another? What a wonderful community we would have if we could speak of, or speak to, others they way we would we want want them to speak of or to us. It sure would be a nice place to live. Love is more than a feeling. It is a mindset, a way of life, something that must be put into action. |
