The Real Life of a PastorSeries: Laying a Christian Foundation in a Non-Christian World (2011) |
Sunday, July 17, 2011 | By Rom A. Pegram |
Introduction:
Today, we begin a series--partially from a pastor's or a church leader's perspective--that will talk about the realities of the world (spiritually speaking) in the Apostle Paul's day. But, this will not just be a history lesson. Why? Because our story from the New Testament book of Titus has everything to do with those same realities in our world, too! For those of you who are "˜the faithful ones"--who continue your weekly worship even during the busy days of summer, these next few weeks should prove to be a rich time together as we study and learn more about the New Testament book of Titus. Are you ready for a new adventure? |

Have you ever been discouraged as you strive to live out the Christian life--living out your beliefs--in a world that doesn't seem to be on the same page? Along with these questions, let's also ask ourselves this question: How is it for pastors in this world we live in? Has their job--as leaders in sharing the Good News of the Gospel--gotten harder over the years? And, what affect does that reality have on the Church--on our lives in this place?
