Introduction:
One of Paul's concerns today is this: What keeps us from living a life ... full of good works? Paul has a couple of pointers for us. He's going to let us know what is useful in life ... and what is useless (not helpful). The world tends to blur those lines sometimes... "¢ What God values highly, the world puts down. Last week we learned that "˜good' or "˜Godly' living comes from "˜good' or "˜Godly' teaching. This week, Paul urges good works (good or Godly living) in every area of our lives ... and that includes our lives as citizens of this country, too! We just can't get away from it. If we are followers of Christ, we are to be about good works ... in every area of our lives. (Can anyone say "˜election year?') Well, why are we to be about good works always? Because God is good; that's why. And we are made in God's image...
