Introduction:

Today, we are going to be celebrating the gift of fatherhood. We're going to celebrate "˜all the dads of our lives' ... whether there's a biological connection or not. Because every single one of us has probably experienced a father-figure--somewhere along the line--who has made a difference in our lives... And we can be thankful for that!

Today, we're going to take a look at one of those "˜father-figures' as we turn to the Old Testament book of Joshua. Many of us know Joshua as the young man who traveled through the wilderness with Moses, as the people of God escaped slavery in Egypt. Some of us also know Joshua as one of the men who led the Hebrew people into the land of Canaan as one of their leaders. But, did you know that Joshua was also a dad? And probably a grand-dad, too? We're going to be looking to his example today, as we strive to learn more about being "˜Godly fathers' in our world...
