Sinners, Outcasts, and the Poor

Series: The Way (2013)

.Sunday, March 17, 2013 | By Rom A. Pegram

Introduction:

Written by Rom A. Pegram. Delivered by Gail Ray.

As we continue on in our series called "The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus," let me ask you a question. Have you ever decided to REALLY be like Jesus and reach out to those most would consider un-reachable or un-touchable? It takes a lot of love to do that. But, isn't that what Jesus would do?
Today, we're going to be not so much concerned about what others would think, but with what God thinks, as we learn to walk in the footsteps of Jesus together. Jesus had some definite opinions on those considered sinners ... or outcasts ... or poor. If you've ever had reservations of any kind about associating with such people, our prayer is that those reservations will disappear today ... as we find out where Jesus stands...

For Jesus, love always came first. And for those of us considered Christ-followers, love also needs to come first--no matter who God calls us to minister to!
