Happy Day of Pentecost!' This is the day when the Church was born. This is the day when the Church was first empowered. And this is the day we celebrate the power of God--his love ... which we're going to learn more about today...

Do any of you ever remember your parents saying something like, "Now, just so you know, this hurts me more than it hurts you," just as they were getting ready to spank you or punish you in some other way? And you were probably thinking something like, "Yeah, right! I'm the one being punished here...." Well, God's love even shows up--just like a parents' love--when God is disciplining us ... or getting on to us. And what we're going to discover together today is this: That's a good thing! Why? Because wherever God's discipline is, there God's love is also...
