Are We a Heralding Church?

Series: General

.Sunday, July 7, 2013 | By John Kvigne

Introduction:

Special guest speaker, John Kvigne

Can you imagine what it would be like if the body of Christ, the church, you and I ,had the same desire to promote the gospel as John the Baptist. Maybe people would come to hear us as we proclaimed the gospel of Jesus Christ; maybe people would repent of their sins and turn their lives over to Christ. Maybe communities would not have the drug and alcohol problems that they are having today. What about the leadership in the country? Maybe, just maybe, if the church would have the "John the Baptist" desire to promote Jesus Christ rather than the agendas of man we would have a government that would seek Godly wisdom and follow His plan rather than man's plan. Maybe our children would know what a biblical Christian marriage looks like and wouldn't have to question who their mother and father are. Fathers would be men of integrity and mothers would be women of faith both doing their part to bring up their children according to scripture.

I believe that the Christian church in America is in a slump. Some churches today are more of a social club and are more worried about what the gossip in town is than what Gods word says about gossip. I hope that each of us will take a good hard look at are personal relationship with Christ and determine whether or not we have the "john the Baptist" desire to grow Gods kingdom on this earth in the time we have left.
