Joy in ServingSeries: General |

Introduction:Let's take just a few moments thinking about some of the aspects of worship. This is time set apart from the demands of the world. Spending this hour worshipping God, as part of the body of the church, meshes the fabric of our lives with traditions that are both ancient and new. We join in the story of Christ, becoming participants instead of bystanders, opening our lives to the power of the Holy Spirit. Parts of our worship service today have direct connections with patterns of worship learned from the early church, over 2000 years ago. And because change is a constant part of being God's people, parts of our worship service today are very new. By being here, right now, we are merging the story of our lives with the story of Christ. Just think of what a joy and privilege this is! |
