10 Reasons to Study the BookSeries: General |
.Sunday, November 10, 2013 | By David Busker |
Introduction:This week we turn our attention to studying the Bible, an appropriate topic at this time since so many are dusting off their Bibles to look for direction amidst the confusion of what is happening in the world. From the outset let me assure you that one hour a week in a Bible study group with others is not a substitute for reading God's word on your own on a regular basis. Both are necessary for your spiritual growth, but this message will focus on the challenge to be involved in a Bible study with others. The Bible is God's Word, it answers life's most important questions, it nourishes us spiritually, it encourages us to see ourselves as we are, it offers transformation, it encourages accountability, it exposes false teachings, it empowers us to resist temptation, it equips us to reach the lost, and it prepares us for eternity. |
