Father, Forgive Them... |

Introduction:![]() Today, we begin a season-long study of the last words (really phrases) of Jesus as he was dying on the cross. No, we're not going to wait until Holy Week or Good Friday to do that this year. We're going to go more in-depth in our study of these final words of Jesus than we ever have before... Last words are important, aren't they? If you've ever had the privilege of being with someone near or at their time of death, I'm sure you were listening for every word that came out of their mouth--no matter how strained they might have been. Why? Because at that point, no one is going to waste their breath on anything trivial; whatever comes out of their mouth will be very important, in one way or another. ... And so it was with Jesus. Today, we're going hear some of those words that came out of his mouth just before his death, words that he would have worked hard at getting out and letting us hear. Are you ready to dive into this study together? |
