Today, we return to the cross and hear yet another of the phrases Jesus spoke from that place...

As we begin this time of worship together, let me ask you a question: Have you ever felt abandoned in your life? Sometimes kids will remember when they lost track of their parents and, at least momentarily, felt abandoned. Or, if you're an adult who's gone through a difficult time in life, maybe you have felt that your family or friends just didn't step up like you needed them too ... and reach out to you. You felt abandoned...

If you've ever felt that feeling of abandonment, please know that you're in good company. You see, Jesus--in his humanness--felt the same way at one point as he hung on the cross. And it's that very real feeling that we all go through that we're going to be talking about today; that's where we're going...
