Introduction: Today, we continue in our Lenten worship series: Christ on the Cross, covering the last couple of statements Jesus made from that place. One of the final statements Jesus made from the cross was "It is finished!" I'm guessing that we've all heard that statement before; we know that's one of the last things Jesus said. BUT ... do you know what it means? If you had to explain what the "˜it' was in this statement, could you? Hopefully, by the end of our time together today, you'll have a much better idea of how you'd do that... We're also going to find out today that Jesus ends his time on the cross in a similar way that he began his time there--word-wise... Are you curious? |
