Introduction:Today, we're going to honor two groups of people--both having to do with learning... First, we're going to honor our teachers--those who teach others about God's word. Those who teach give a good part of their lives learning about their subject ... and then learning how to model & teach that subject to others. In our case, they learn all they can about God and God's ways ... and then pass on not only information ... but their very lives that have been transformed by God's word on to their students... We're also going to honor graduates--graduates at various phases of life. In this place, they all have something in common. You see, no matter what phase of life they are finishing up ... or moving on to, we know that God's word can guide their lives for the days ahead... As Pastor Rom's friend from Jerusalem always says about Israel, "We are a people of God's Word. If we're not, we have no business being here!" We feel the same at the Dodgeville United Methodist Church. Today, we're going to learn more about the importance of God's word in all of our lives... |
