Introduction:![]() Today, we begin a new worship series that will take us through the rest of the summer. It is simply called 'Christian.' To get the series started, today we’re going to talk about ‘brand recognition’. Let me give you an idea of what I mean. For instance, when you see a set of golden arches, what do you think about? McDonald’s, right? That’s brand recognition. When you hear the word ‘Starbucks’, most would think of good coffee. That’s brand recognition. So, what does it mean when you hear the word ‘Christian’? Not quite so recognizable, is it? For one person ‘Christian’ may mean one thing; for another, it’ll be another description all together. And where did the word come from in the first place? What did it mean in the beginning? All those things we’re going to dig into just a bit today … to find out what it means to be a ‘Christian’—or what it should… |
