Introduction:

Do you ever expect anything out of the ordinary to happen when you come to church? I'm sure the people of "˜First Synagogue of Nazareth' didn't expect anything unusual either, as they gathered for their weekly time of worship ... except that the "˜local boy who'd made good'--Jesus--was going to be there ... a bit of a celebrity in his home church...

Well, here's what happened: when they least expected it ... God spoke out clearly in the midst of their service. The announcement was that the predictions of their great prophet, Isaiah--whom they would hear from during today's service--were about to come true ... right before their very eyes!

Unbelievable? Well, to some it certainly was... And, that's the story that Luke tells us about today. Are you ready for an unordinary day at church? Are you ready for God to enter in ... as God so chooses?
